I am a storyteller and ideamonger, using any medium necessary. That usually involves design and art direction but also illustration, writing, facilitating workshops, giving talks, and taking full advantage of that beautiful playground called the internet, any chance I get!
Born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, I took a trip to Brooklyn, NY, to earn a BFA in Communications Design from Pratt Institute. Thereafter I worked as an Art Director for a couple of advertising agencies in New York but needing a change of scene, I packed up and moved to the UK to pursue a Masters in African Studies at SOAS, University of London. I soon discovered sustainability communications agency, Futerra, and ended up being their first designer and working there for the next three years. I continued to undertake freelance work, including designing and art directing a couple of magazines stateside, and in 2009, I left Futerra and London to pursue working independently.
I now live in Manchester and collaborate with clients around the UK and the world, promoting positive social and/or environmental change.
