Shop Assistant

Job Overview

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Shop Assistant to join our team at Loresho Shopping Centre. The ideal candidate should have a passion for creativity, excellent customer service skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Details

  • The role involves mainly weekend and holiday shifts at our retail shop, as well as at seasonal events and fairs

  • Availability on other days as needed, to assist with various tasks from the responsibilities below

Key Responsibilities


Customer Service & Sales:

  • Greet and assist customers with product recommendations based on their needs

  • Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems

  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve/escalate issues in a professional manner

Store Operations

  • Ensure the shop is clean, well-organised, and visually appealing

  • Restock displays

  • Assist in unpacking and displaying new stock

  • Handle enquiries and fulfill online, phone and social media orders

Inventory management

  • Assist with maintaining accurate inventory levels

  • Assist in quality control and packaging of new stock

Requirements

  • Availability to work weekends and holidays

  • Passion for art, stationery, and creative products

  • Prior retail or customer service experience (preferred but not required)

  • Friendly and proactive with excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively

  • Basic math skills for handling sales transactions
